Philanthropy is one of the most meaningful aspects of society and plays an important role in advancing human well-being and building a community with a shared future for humanity. In 2020, healthcare workers across China stood on the front lines of the pandemic, protecting public health and saving lives. Their extraordinary collective efforts in the fight against disease earned widespread recognition around the world.

Hainan Chengmei Charity Foundation, a Grade 5A public fundraising foundation with consultative status at the United Nations, joined forces with the Kidnewer Special Fund and Energy China Public Welfare Development Fund to respond rapidly to the public health emergency. Together, they raised nearly RMB 18 million and worked with the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center to support pandemic prevention and control efforts across China. Their assistance reached more than 460 organizations involved in the pandemic response across 14 provinces and municipalities, earning recognition and appreciation from health commissions in several provinces.

Medicine and healthcare carry greater expectations and responsibilities in the new era. Established to improve health and well-being within the framework of a community with a shared future for humanity, the Life Planet Special Fund aims not only to respond decisively when epidemics emerge, but also to strengthen prevention and preparedness, making high-quality public health practices an integral part of everyday life.
